What if Obesity is Nobody's Fault

This piece was my first ever feature. Nautilus was a brand new publication and they were willing to take chances on new writers. I had the thrill of having artwork commissioned to accompany this piece, and I still prefer to pitch publications that I know will complement my writing with quality images. I was happy to have this lede make it into "kick ass ledes" though my editor was adamant about cutting "shit" from their publication. I still think it's a better word. I also got a little worried from Google searches full of words like "bomb calorimeter" and "poop explosion" so occasionally I'd do searches for things like "happy kitties" just in case.
